This sweet baby is a miracle child. I won't get into the details, but lets just say she is a fighter just like her mama. It was such a pleasure working with Cate, I pushed her a bit too hard for a new born as you can see from the last shot but our bond gave us some amazing images. :) I can't wait to watch this little sweetheart grow. Thanks to both Cate and mama for being so wonderful to work with.

So all the mama's that I did maternity shoots for are now having their babies one by one. I feel like I am back on track with shooting consistently which makes me feel alive and rejuvenated. There is nothing better than capturing a moment in time and having that parent moved so much that tears of joy start flowing. That's why I do what I do.

There will be more to come, I have 4 shoots in the next 6 days so till next time enjoy the sunshine while its here!

I want to start off this blog with thanks to all my friends and family who have and still are saying lots of prayers for my sister. As some of you know, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently undergoing treatment in Kauai. Its been rough on both of us but I know she will get through it because she is a survivor.

Kauai was like a blessing and a curse to me but I was able to find the peace and beauty in the island as well as in its people. What I have realized in this life is that we all must take a chance and recognize that no matter what, we always win. There is always a lesson in everything we do and if we see the beauty and goodness that surrounds us there is no way we can lose.

I hope you enjoy the beauty in these pictures and even more, I hope you all continue to take chances in life and know in your heart that no matter what you will win.

Miss Kauai

As many of you know, I have been in Kauai for the last month. I was there visiting my sister and took care of some business as well. Kauai is a beautiful island that is very green and interesting to me. I'm not sure if it would be my choice of islands but I did have some great memories that I will take with me for a lifetime. Between the farm animals, the one lane highways, rain and my mosquito bites, my sister and her friends will have stories that will make them laugh for at least the next year. ;) I did do some shooting and education while I was out there so I wasn't completely off duty.

I have to admit, taking pictures of islands kids was a blast because going to the beach IS pretty much all they do out there. Miss Lili is an adorable 3 year old and a complete natural in the water. It was so fun having such a change of scenery and afterward enjoying some sun at the beach! Its definitely a lifestyle I can get used to, thanks Lili and Pam! :) My next blog will be of all my landscape shots of the island, I know you will love those!

Maternity is in the air! I've had I think a total of 5 maternity sessions and all of the moms are having boys! I can't wait for the babies to come, keep an eye out for the sessions they should arrive in the upcoming months. :) Enjoy!

My sister kindly asked me to document her new hair cut so I had my fabulous makeup artist Yolanda come over and doll her up. Yolanda, president of tinsel tans (www.tinseltans.com) is an amazing makeup artist and made my sister feel fabulous. It was a major success since my sis and I can bump heads regarding her photographs but with a little teamwork we made some dream work. ;)

Since being on Facebook, I have recently reconnected with a bunch of friends. Cathy is an old family friend and loved my work so we scheduled a shoot while she was out from San Diego. It was crazy to see that she had 2 beautiful babies, yet again an example of how time can fly by. We had a great time in SF. Here are a few images from the shoot. Enjoy!

So last year I worked with the Mt. Diablo mothers club and I met this amazing family. They were my very first client of the day and we had such a great time, it was so easy and fun and we got some really great shots. Ben and Monique are so wonderful to work with and we have a really great bond, I am just so blessed to have met them. It can be very scary to watch how quickly these kids grow. That's why you need to document all the stages because it goes so fast! :)

Saturday night I was blessed to have 2nd row seats at the Carrie Underwood concert and here are a few images of the fun that I had. My closest friends know that I am a big american idol fan but I think its gone a bit down hill since Carrie won but I still love watching it! ;) She was amazing and yet again I couldn't help myself from capturing the energy of the evening. OK, so I know I say I always have favorite clients but the real truth is I LOVE them all. This little girl is a total star and one of the most beautiful and sweetest souls I have ever met - and she is only 5 years old!! I call her my little Buddha because she is so calm and loving she exudes peace and happiness. Anyway, long story short she has been admired by every person she meets and her mom finally decided to bring her to a casting call and try out this whole modeling thing. Long story short, we did a comp card and some portfolio shots and a week later she has booked a disney magazine cover and is auditioning for VOGUE BAMBINI! Did any of you know that there is a VOGUE magazine for kids? Not sure if you did, but I do and its a very BIG deal. She is so going to be a star so keep your eyes out for this one!! :)

One of my favorite clients called me up again for a surprise birthday gift for her dad's 50th b-day. The gift was from Sophia, his daughter and it was a CD of her singing the song "My Girl." This little girl is so amazing, she trained with vocal coaches and had the CD produced and professionally made all as a surprise gift for her dad. What a great gift, he is going to LOVE it and I can't wait to hear what happened since the party was this weekend! Her are a few of my favorite shots...

Check it out, this weekend was filled with shoots. Here are some of my favorites from the weekend, they are so adorable! I've had the pleasure of shooting the most amazing kids lately and I have a full schedule in the upcoming months. My latest gig is photographing children models, so if you have any friends that may want a comp card send them my way. As most of you know, I have been super busy lately with different business ventures and classes. I recently took an amazing class on the east coast by my favorite children's photographer Audrey Woulard. She is a phenomenal photographer but more importantly a super savvy business woman. She taught all of us so much in the short time we were with her and I personally have changed my entire business. I can't wait to see the results! So here are some shots of just 2 girls from this months Pin Up Parties. I have many more to come but had to share these 2 because they sent the model releases quickest! ;) I feel like these parties are helping me to evolve so much as a photographer. I sometimes when editing have to pat myself on the back because the images just turn out so beautiful. I feel like I have shot well over a hundred women in the last year, all unique and beautiful in their own way. Can I just say much HAPPIER I am that I'm back in California and have the life I have. My past life feels eons away and for that I am thankful. I truly am blessed with a gift that I get to share with so many amazing and beautiful people. Looking back at what I have done in 1 year amazes me, I truly can't wait to see what happens in 10!

So, motto of the day is to go for it and look in the mirror and know that you are beautiful and if you can't see it, call me and I'll capture it for you. Its a gift that I was given to share. :) Blessings to you all and I thank from the bottom of my heart my many clients whom have given me the honor of capturing their essence. For that I am eternally grateful.

Diablo and Oakland Magazines always seem to send me to events featuring celebrities. I never complain since my job is to hang out with them and take pictures - 2 things I don't mind doinf at all. I just never thought I would meet so many my first year in business. This year alone, I've met Don Cheadle, Clinton Kelly, Green Day, Carson Kressley, Incubus, NoFX and a bunch of local celebrities. Fun times. Now all I need to manifest is taking pictures of Madonna and her kids and Oprah too! Be careful what you wish for right?!

Here is another! I've built some great relationships with WC, Oakland and Diablo. In this issue they actually featured my sister's toy that she recently invented so I had to brag. Its actually doing pretty well. Fridgebox has been featured in numerous magazines and she's even been on TV showcasing it! How proud my dad would be of her! I personally think its no surprise, he raised strong girls that no nothing else but to persevere and succeed! :)

So I have about 7 photo shoots to blog about but no time to do so. I'm going to try to be really good this week and get to it, but who knows where the universe will take me. While editing one of my most recent shoots this image stopped me and got me thinking how simple life can be. I think we make is so much more complex than it really is. It also made me think about how wonderful and blessed my life is. I am surrounded by amazing friends, family, have wonderful clients and get to do what I love. I am so drawn to this image is because I see part of myself in it. Free and happy enjoying the life I've been blessed with.

Our Pin-Up Parties are getting so popular that with my schedule, I have had to plan almost a month and a half in advance! It's a ton of fun for the ladies who participate and our team does an absolutely amazing job transforming them into amazing pin-up goddesses! I love these images of Jackie because #1 she is a stunner and #2 she chose my favorite dress at original sin! :)

I did this shoot today and I was so excited to edit and post them for her. Stevie is a model and loved my pinup work so this shoot was intended to build her fashion portfolio. I haven't had a shoot like this in awhile so I was really excited. We had a blast and she was very patient with my meticulous attention to detail and wanting to mimic ads that I LOVE! We definitely did that and I KNOW that she will get some amazing gigs with these shots, so if anyone needs a runway model let me know! ;)

So, I think you all know by now that I love taking pictures of kids. They are so cute and super easy to get priceless expression out of. Little miss Anna is a whopping 3 weeks old and was already impressing me with her lungs and strength. This kid was ready to stand which from my experience is virtually impossible for a 3 week old. It was a pleasure capturing her spirit and as always a blast hanging out with her mommy, whom is a very dear friend of mine.

Coolest 8 year old's birthday I have ever been to!

So this past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing this ADORABLE little girl's birthday party. The event was held at Olympic Nails in Walnut creek and around 20-25 of the cutest little 8 year old girls came to get manicures and pedicures. It was so much fun and while some girls were getting their nails done the others were getting their faces painted by All That Glitters www.allthatglittersfacepaint.com. The face painters were absolutely amazing and the girls looked super cute! I thought this vegetable was so cool. My sister got it the other day from her CSA delivery and I had to take a picture of it. I feel like I have been working on so much stuff lately I just needed to appreciate the beauty of nature. I'll be updating more as soon as I get some free time. Danville Antique Fair

Original Sin asked me to be a part of the Danville Antique Fair this past Sunday and it was so much fun! Clinton Kelly from What NOT to Wear - January's Diablo Magazine

So, I have been working with Diablo on and off as a freelance photographer ever since I started my business back in May and on my 3rd shoot they gave me a full page spread! In the beginning the photo editor told me I was going to get a 2 page spread in the glipse section but at the last minute they switched it to the faces section. I was so not complaining because to have a full page spread within months of starting your own business is pretty amazing! I was just stoked to actually meet Clinton Kelly and find out that what I wear is actually pretty dead on for my body type! I think my friends would back me and say they are just proud that I am finally wearing jeans that are long enough and not floods! ;)

Thanks Diablo for sending me on such a cool event and thanks Clinton for all the advice!

Walnut Creek Magazine...

Last month I did this photo shoot with WC magazine and it was so much fun! I got to meet Pam Kessler who is the editor and publisher of the magazine and she was great to work with. The makeover was so amazing that I asked - and was pretty serious ;) if I could get one after I saw all that they did to Noel! Noel started off beautiful and turned into an amazingly chic and stylish woman. I was so happy to capture the images for her and was glad to be part of team makeover!

WC magazine is a great local magazine that everyone in the area should check out. They have great write ups on local events, restaurants and business. You can find them around the WC area but I always get mine at Whole Foods in WC. Check it out, there are some great up and coming local business to visit!

New Mama

When I first started shooting after I came back from Florida, I had the pleasure of working with Adel who is a former Ford model. She is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. I came to find out after working with her that she was 3 1/2 months pregnant - you couldn't event tell! We did some head shots of her and I told her to come back for a maternity session in my studio and here is what came out. I think she looks amazing and I know this child will be totally gorgeous just like her mama!

Welcome 2008!

So with the New Year, I have decided to set some new goals and get an upgrade on my website! My business has really come a long way and I want my image to reflect it! I have a new site and new blog to showcase all my wonderful new images! 2007 brought many changes to my world and I am happy to have left all the bad stuff in the past and am ready to ROCK 2008! I have so many goals to achieve this year so keep posted because I am shooting (no pun intended) ;) for the stars - and that may just mean celebrities!!
